Welcome to my blog!
The Let’s Get Hopping team are back for another month of great projects. This month’s theme is Words of Encouragement & Strength. We all know how important it is to share words of encouragement & strength with others, whether it’s in a time of need for them or just because. You never know when someone is hurting or needing a simple kind word. And when it comes in the form of a handmade card, I think it’s even more powerful. The card will be treasured & can be brought out again when they need more encouragement ❤️
Anyway, enough chatter from me! You would’ve arrived here from the talented Artisan Designer Mikaela Titheridge or starting with me. Either way, be sure to click on the link at the end of my post to hop all the way around.
For my project, I was inspired by the Make & Take I created at a team meeting with Jacque Williams. You can see her original card here.
Here’s my project…
After seeing lots of samples, I eventually fell in love with the Bird Ballad suite & had to use it for this month’s theme. This suite has also brought me back to my long lost love of the vintage style. The soft colours of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) & the stamped image gives the card a touch of modern.
I scrunched the Crumb Cake labels behind the sentiment & focal image to give it the added vintage feel. It also made the labels slightly smaller & made it a better fit, which I preferred.
Here’s a closer look at the focal image & sentiment…
I coloured in the focal image with my Stampin’ Blends & the sentiment is heat embossed with our Copper emboss powder. I distressed the edges of all the elements on the card using my paper snips. I then sponged Crumb Cake ink around all the edges as well. I gently rubbed a little bit of Crumb Cake ink over the white areas on the sentiment, focal piece & DSPs to give them all a slightly weathered look to add to the vintage style.
I love this sentiment from the Well Said stamp set. It’s generic but still heartfelt, perfect for when you’re not sure why someone is hurting but know they need some kind words of encouragement. It tells them that you’re there no matter what & that they can always count on you.
I hope you enjoyed my project today. You never know when you may come across someone who needs a bit of encouragement. Or you may even find comfort in some of the words & projects our team has for you this month. Either way, I hope you will find inspiration & encouragement in our hop.
Let’s hop over to the talented Shelly Wadge to see what encouraging words she has for us.
Until next time, sending you lots of crafty hugs! 😊
