Let’s Get Hopping 48: CASE It for Christmas

Welcome to my blog!

I’m back with the Let’s Get Hopping crew & today we’re sharing CASE’d projects for Christmas. If you’ve never heard of CASE before, it means Copy & Selectively Edit, so you choose a project and you pick elements that you like about it and make it your own.

You would’ve come from the amazing Tanya Rees or starting with me, either way, be sure to hop right around to check out all our Christmas projects 😊

Well, we were meant to CASE a project we had previously created and recreate it for a Christmas project. However, I didn’t read the finer details properly and ended up CASEing a card from the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue 🤦‍♀️😅

I had intentions of recreating the project following the correct details but had run out of time, so I stuck with the projects I CASEd from the Mini Catalogue. I chose to CASE the layout of the pumpkin card on page 50.

I really liked the layout with the trio of pumpkins and created two projects using a similar layout. Here’s what I came up with…

The layout is identical but I made one in portrait and the other in landscape and also used different colour combinations – one traditional and one non-traditional.

First, let’s have a look at the traditional coloured card…

For this card I used Just Jade & Poppy Parade with Silver. I stamped the mistletoes with Stazon ink on Shimmery White cardstock then watercoloured them. I wanted to keep the sentiment simple so that the trees from the Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) could shine behind the mistletoes.

And of course you must have a bit of sparkle for Christmas, so I added some Wink of Stella over the mistletoes and trees. Here’s a closer look…

Next, let’s have a look at the non-traditional coloured card…

For this card, I used Misty Moonlight, Polished Pink & Mint Macaron. I continued with the trio of images and stamped three trees in the colours above. I stamped the sentiment in Polished Pink onto some Mint Macaron DSP. Again, the sentiment was simple so that the iridescent sheen in the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP could shine through from behind.

Here’s a closer look…

I hope you enjoyed my projects today & I’ve inspired you to try CASEing another project for your Christmas projects. Thanks for joining me today & be sure to check out the talented Shelly Wadge’s gorgeous project 😊
